Riff-A-Week #1

I have really slacked off in my guitar playing over the last few years, and I thought if I recorded something and posted it every week, maybe I’d get good enough to only post something not-too-horrible once a month.

So, better late than never, last night I put together a little riff called, “It’s Sunny Charlie Brown”.

It’s an acoustic track with a very simple progression, and then a heavily distorted solo meandering over it. ‘Rubato’ is the word of the day.

    Well done!

Interestingly, when I read the blog in Google News Reader it has a fancy Play MP3 widget but when I go to your site it shows as a boring old link.

Did you do that? Or is it Google magic?

    (sounds great either way)

Rubato is my word of every day. I don’t know any other words.

FYI I taught Jazz to play Rising Sun in Jam Sessions so she could join in with me & Dylan. Was cool!

    Thanks.

I noticed when I used netnewswire that it included the mp3 attachment as well. I used MarsEdit to make the post, and used it’s upload facility to upload the mp3, so I think it did something smart, or WordPress did. Not sure. But yeah, the page is just a plain old link.

That’s cool that Jazz could jam along in Jam Sessions. How much time did it take to get the keypad setup?
