WordNet Rave
Searching for party on Wordnet returns some interesting matches.
Wordnet is a project to do semantic tagging of words for the purpose of identifying underlying concepts.
But here was the funny part of the result set for party:
“1. v. party.
Have or participate in a party; “The students were partying all night before the exam”.
Party is a type of:
» celebrate, fete » meet, get together
Types of party include: rave”
Not birthday or anniversary, but, rave, is the only type of party listed. What does this say about the corpus from which this tagging was created?
